Job summary

Boeing Defence UK is seeking a System Safety Engineer for a hybrid role based in the UK, with responsibilities spanning safety planning, artefact development, and safety case creation. The role entails collaboration across Boeing teams and customer-facing safety meetings, with UK travel expected.

Ideal candidates will hold an Engineering degree, formal System Safety training, and experience with MoD safety policy, safety cases, and relevant safety tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Formal System Safety training.
• Experience leading and developing Safety Assessments for MoD ground based systems and information systems.
• Knowledge of MoD Safety Policy and Def Stan 00-056.
• Experience developing Safety Cases for information systems and services.
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-178B/C and IEC 61508 Part 3.
• Proficient in Safety artefact documentation and hazard logs.

Responsibilities

• Support safety activities in programme planning and scoping.
• Develop Safety artefacts and documentation per MoD standards.
• Create and maintain Safety Cases and Safety Arguments using ASCE methodology.
• Liaise with Boeing teams and run Safety Meetings and Working Groups.
• Travel within UK as required.
