AVD Appoint is recruiting a Supply Chain Manager for a Cornwall-based engineering company offering hybrid working. The role leads purchasing, oversees two Buyers, handles day-to-day buying, imports from Europe and the Far East, and focuses on quality control of non-conforming products.

The company has a 35+ year track record, opportunities for progression, and a salary up to £60,000 plus benefits. Travel may be required occasionally; the post is permanent and integral to shaping the purchasing

Qualifications

• Experience in Construction, Engineering or Manufacturing sectors.
• Experience dealing with importing from Europe and the Far East.
• MCIPS (desirable)
• Forecasting experience (desirable)
• Experience handling consumables (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Head up the purchasing department and manage two Buyers.
• Hands-on in day-to-day buying and supplier liaison.
• Oversee imports from Europe and the Far East; supplier visits if beneficial.
• Lead quality control on non-conforming products and root-cause analysis with suppliers.
