Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers in Oxford is seeking a Structural Engineer to join a collaborative, hybrid team. You will contribute to design and delivery of building structures, progressing toward Chartership while working on a mix of new build and refurbishment projects.

You will interact with senior engineers, produce calculations and reports, and help ensure safe, sustainable outcomes with a focus on client relationships and technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Working towards Chartership with the IStructE or ICE.
  • Experience delivering new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Experience designing structures in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
  • Solid understanding of UK design standards and regulations.
  • Familiar with BIM processes and Revit.
  • Ability to produce structural calculations and technical reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to develop career within Oxford office.

Responsibilities

  • Design practical and cost effective structural solutions for a variety of projects.
  • Deliver coordinated designs with architects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Undertake structural surveys and prepare technical reports.
  • Produce calculations and technical information for building structures projects.
  • Support project delivery from concept through to construction.
  • Contribute to bid submissions and fee proposals.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Collaborate with Oxford colleagues to deliver quality engineering solutions.
  • Help ensure projects are delivered safely, sustainably and efficiently.
