Job summary
Castle Trust Bank is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support the reliability, security and performance of our database estate. This role is based in Basingstoke with hybrid work: 3 days in the office, 2 days at home.
You will monitor database health, optimise performance, manage backup and disaster recovery, investigate incidents, and implement controlled changes. You’ll also contribute to data platform development with Azure, automation and source control.
Qualifications
- Experience administering business-critical relational databases.
- Strong knowledge of performance monitoring and tuning.
- Experience with backup, restore and disaster recovery.
- Familiarity with incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
- Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell.
Responsibilities
- Monitor database health and availability across SQL Server estates.
- Optimize performance and capacity planning for databases.
- Manage backup, restore and disaster recovery processes.
- Investigate incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
- Deliver controlled changes via change and release processes.
