Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council’s Children’s Services is recruiting a Social Worker for the Family Help Service. You will deliver high-quality, relationship-based social work to safeguard children and support families to create lasting change.

This permanent, full-time role offers hybrid working from Shute End and home, a supportive pod structure, reflective supervision, and opportunities to influence a growing service while working in a collaborative, multi-agency environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with registration.
• Experience delivering child-centred, relational social work.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build meaningful relationships.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity & inclusion.
• Passion for relationship-based and systemic practice.
• Drive to learn, reflect and improve continuously.

Responsibilities

• Deliver child-centred, relational social work practice.
• Undertake direct work with children and families to promote safety and wellbeing.
• Co-produce purposeful plans with families and partners to improve outcomes.
• Produce high-quality assessments, reports and court documentation.
• Participate in safeguarding meetings, supervision and reflective practice.
• Stay up to date with legislation, policy and best practice.
