Job summary

Milton Keynes City Council, with Opus People Solutions, seeks an experienced Social Worker to join the MASH Assessment Pod on a full-time basis in Milton Keynes. You will conduct timely safeguarding assessments to support families at the earliest opportunity.

Work pattern includes three-week rota with assessment, triage, and follow-up weeks, plus some hybrid home-working days after induction. DBS checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Experience of working within Children's Services.
• Experience managing Child in Need, Child Protection and Section 47 work.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multi-agency environment.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel within the community.

Responsibilities

• Undertake timely safeguarding assessments and home visits to safeguard children and support families.
• Manage up to four pre-arranged Single Assessments each cycle.
• Attend strategy discussions and multi-agency meetings as required.
• Visit families during triage and follow-up weeks, with case progression and recording.
