Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a proactive Site Engineer to join the @one Alliance delivering major Anglian Water infrastructure. You will set out, survey and support planning across AMP8 projects, ensuring safety and quality while coordinating with project managers, design teams and delivery partners.

The role requires civil engineering knowledge, site experience, and a UK driving licence, with travel across the Anglian Water region.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as a Site Engineer in construction, utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, setting out techniques and surveying equipment.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of QA processes and construction standards.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements in construction.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Anglian Water region.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme objectives.
• Producing and maintaining site records, quality assurance documentation and as-built information.
• Supporting planning, coordination and delivery of construction activities across multiple projects.
• Working with design teams to identify and resolve technical issues and engineering challenges.
• Monitoring subcontractor activities to ensure quality, safety and environmental standards.
• Undertaking inspections, testing and verification activities to support project delivery.
• Assisting with risk management and safe systems of work implementation.
• Supporting environmental, sustainability and health & safety objectives across all activities.
• Building collaborative relationships with Alliance partners and site teams.
