Job summary

Platform Recruitment is assisting a leading radar and RF systems engineering consultancy in the Cambridge area to recruit a Lead Radar Systems Engineer on a permanent basis. Hybrid working, with two days remote and three days on site near Cambridge, and a salary range of £70k–£90k plus benefits.

The role demands deep radar expertise, hands-on engineering, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams, shape roadmaps, and engage with customers.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years in customised radar systems development.
• Expertise across pulse, FMCW, SAR and radar imaging.
• RF design including propagation, links and synthesisers.
• Systems engineering: requirements, verification and scoping.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of advanced radar and RF systems.
• Define RF architectures against customer requirements.
• Make system-level trade-offs balancing performance, cost and risk.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams through complex projects.
• Develop radar system requirements and performance models.
• Mentor engineers across radar, RF and systems.
