Intellectual Capital Resources Ltd represents a client near Cambridge seeking a Lead Radar Systems Engineer who combines hands-on technical work with responsibility for radar architecture, project delivery and the development of its radar capability.
You will guide trade-offs between detection metrics and cost, work with cross-disciplinary teams, shape proposals, mentor engineers and contribute to roadmaps and recruitment, with clearance requirements for UK SC/UKEO.
Our client is looking for a Lead Radar Systems Engineer based just south of Cambridge, combining hands-on technical work with responsibility for radar architecture, project delivery and the development of its radar capability.
Our client is an engineering consultancy developing bespoke RF and sensing systems. Its wider radar work includes compact millimetre-wave sensing for detection and navigation applications, where performance must be balanced against practical constraints on size, weight and power.
You’ll help turn customer challenges into workable radar systems, including situations where the requirements need defining before an architecture can be selected. The work spans initial concepts, performance modelling and RF architecture through to demonstration and deployment.
As Lead Radar Systems Engineer, you’ll assess trade-offs between detection range, resolution, sensitivity and clutter performance, alongside cost, technical risk and implementation complexity. Working with RF, electronics, signal processing, software and systems engineers, you’ll guide the technical decisions that determine how the complete system performs.
You’ll also work directly with customers, shape proposals and project scope, mentor engineers and contribute to technology roadmaps and recruitment.
The appeal is the combination of technical ownership, customer involvement and influence over future engineering capability, while remaining closely involved in the engineering itself. Our client also supports professional development and career progression.
The role requires UK SC / UKEO clearance.
