Job summary

Hastings Direct is recruiting a Senior Microservices Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable microservices within the CIO Technology Engineering team. You will work with the Principal Engineer and cross-functional scrum teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business needs.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews and help raise engineering standards while contributing to strategic initiatives and KPI tracking.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience developing Java-based microservices in production environments.
• Strong experience working in Agile teams with iterative delivery and stakeholder collaboration.
• Proven ability to influence technical decisions and contribute to process improvements.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and onboarding them into delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable microservices within the CIO Technology Engineering team.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineer, Group Architecture and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
