Job summary

MRJ Recruitment is seeking a Senior Insights Analyst for a hybrid role in Huddersfield, with 1 day a week in the office. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand data needs and translate them into actionable insights.

You’ll use SQL and Power BI daily to pull, analyse, and validate data, build dashboards, and identify trends to support decision-making across customer, commercial and operational areas.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in an insights/data focussed role.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience working with large datasets.
• Power BI or a similar reporting/visualisation tool.
• Comfortable working with stakeholders and gathering requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to uncover the 'why' behind the numbers.
• Ability to take a piece of work from the initial question to presenting findings.
• Good attention to detail around data accuracy.
• Commercially curious and focused on actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Working with stakeholders across the business to understand data needs.
• Getting underneath requests to uncover underlying needs.
• Using SQL to pull, analyse and validate data.
• Building and improving Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Looking at customer, commercial and operational performance.
• Spotting trends, risks and opportunities in the data.
• Helping define and improve KPIs and reporting.
• Presenting findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Working with data/engineering teams on data quality and discrepancies.
• Reducing manual and ad-hoc reporting.
• Exploring how AI and automation could improve the reporting/insight process.
