Job summary

Booker is seeking a commercially minded financial controller to join the Scoot division. You will manage day-to-day financial operations, deliver accurate reporting, and provide analytical support to drive informed decision-making across the business.

Based in a hybrid model with three days at regional offices in Wellingborough or Eccles and two days from home, you will work closely with stakeholders, lead budgeting, forecasting, and oversee incentive schemes to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (preferred) with a relevant degree (desirable).
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Advanced IT proficiency, particularly in Excel.
• Team player, capable of collaborating across multiple sites.
• Willingness to travel to other sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing weekly sales reports, ensuring alignment between retail sales and wholesale sales uplifts.
• Conducting monthly profit and loss analysis, comparing actuals against business cases.
• Leading budgeting, latest estimate (LE) planning, and forecasting activities.
• Managing and overseeing invoice and credit processes related to handheld terminals, commission charges, and marketing support.
• Overseeing third-party logistics (3PL) management and ensuring rebate credits are processed back to Booker Group.
• Administering and controlling sales incentive schemes to drive performance.
• Supporting the Commercial Finance Manager with ad hoc analytical work outside of the Scoot framework.
