Job summary

Kier is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our civil/structural/geotechnical teams across the UK, offering agile working with up to 1-2 days home per week. You’ll lead delivery on diverse construction projects, review designs for buildability and safety, manage technical scopes, programmes and budgets, and mentor junior staff within a busy consultancy environment.

You'll collaborate with preconstruction and construction teams, support tenders, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes

Qualifications

• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) with equivalent experience.
• Strong grounding in civil, structural and geotechnical engineering principles and design standards.
• Experience in temporary works design and/or management, or other practical construction experience.
• Strong organisational and communication skills and ability to work in collaborative teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading the delivery of a broad range of construction engineering services including temporary works design and checking.
• Reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability, supporting tenders and preconstruction planning.
• Providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.
