Job summary

Butler Rose in Leyland, Lancashire, is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager or Senior Manager to lead a growing practice. The role offers autonomy, leadership of a team, and close collaboration with owners. Hybrid working with initial in-office relationship building.

You'll develop client portfolios, improve processes, and contribute to strategic direction while leveraging modern technology and an established client base.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification
• Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice
• A solid technical background in accounts preparation, review and general practice services
• Experience managing client portfolios and supervising or developing staff
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Good commercial awareness and an interest in business development
• A positive, proactive approach and confidence in making decisions
• An interest in technology, innovation and improving the way practices operate

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a team of qualified and non-qualified accountants
• Oversee client portfolios, accounts preparation and review, ensuring high technical and service standards
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing proactive advice and commercial support
• Work closely with the owners on the day-to-day management and development of the practice
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and profitability
• Support business development activities and help attract new clients
• Contribute to staff development, recruitment and succession planning
• Embrace modern technology, AI, outsourcing and innovative ways of working
• Play an increasingly influential role in the firms strategic direction and growth
