EverQuote NI is seeking a Software Engineer II, Security in Belfast with 2+ years of security-focused software experience. You will join a team bridging Security Engineering and Compliance to streamline vulnerability management and shape secure product development.

You will design and implement security data products, work with Python/SQL, and collaborate with engineers to remediate issues while promoting secure-by-design practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years work experience as a Security Analyst or Security Engineer.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, and SQL.
• Proficiency with AWS cloud platforms and security tools like Security Hub, IAM, etc.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, threat modelling, OWASP Top 10, encryption theory.
• Understanding of secure development best practices.
• Experience with Continuous integration and deployment tools.
• Proficiency with Linux environments.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and teamwork.
• Comfortable using data to validate concepts.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and trialling new security tooling for the SDLC, especially in AI space.
• Code solutions to engineering challenges in security space using Python/SQL.
• Advocate for security best practices across engineering teams.
• Maintain security data products: SBOM, asset inventory, cloud infrastructure, SIEM.
• Monitor, log, triage, escalate cyber security threats; document IoCs.
• Conduct security assessments and report findings.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to remediate issues.
• Provide support and training to teams.
