Job summary

Ocho People Ltd. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for an AI Agent Security Platform in a hybrid Belfast setup. You will lead across teams while staying hands-on, shaping designs and driving the platform's long-term strategy.

You will own complex problems spanning services and reference architectures, mentor engineers, and engage with customers and standards groups to advance secure agent identity and execution.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience in distributed or security-sensitive systems.
• Expertise in one or more modern programming languages.
• Strong cloud-native system design, API contracts and data integrity skills, plus production operations experience.
• Proven track record of leading large technical initiatives across teams without positional authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and durable technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and delivery across multiple teams and platform layers.
• Design and build capabilities in identity, delegated authority, policy enforcement and evidence.
• Evolve reference designs and engineering standards with Platform Architect.
• Prototype high-risk approaches and translate findings into scalable designs.
• Lead architecture reviews and address security, reliability and scalability risks.
• Build reusable frameworks and reference implementations for consistency.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen technical decision-making.
• Represent engineering in customer, partner and standards discussions.
