Job summary

Enterprise Control Systems Ltd (ECS), part of SPX Technologies, is seeking an RF Design Engineer to join a small, expert team based in Wappenham, Northamptonshire. The role is hybrid with at least three days in the office and focuses on RF circuit design, RF simulation, and PCB layout.

You will contribute to NPI and sustaining engineering, work on converters and power supplies, and collaborate across disciplines. A commercial RF background, a degree, and SC eligibility are desired.

Qualifications

• Some RF design experience in a commercial environment.
• Familiarity with PCB design tools and RF simulation software; knowledge of RF components such as amplifiers, filters, antennas, and EMC basics.
• Nice-to-have: converters, power supplies, or advanced test equipment like network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects.
• Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• British citizenship or eligibility for Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

• RF Circuit Design: contribute to system architecture, RF simulation, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
• Product Development: support full product lifecycle from requirements to testing and validation.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: help resolve RF-related issues and collaborate across teams.
• Independent Work: manage your own tasks and testing with support from senior engineers.
• Collaboration: share ideas and learn from a close-knit team.
