Job summary

Pontoon Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a leading banking client in Manchester City Centre for a Reconciliation Analyst on a 12-month contract with hybrid working (four days a week in the office).

The role focuses on quality control of processing in the Middle Office, review of junior staff output, and complex reconciliation across cash, assets, and trades. A finance degree and strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to navigate complex transactions.
• Experience in reconciliation processes and a solid understanding of banking operations.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality control of processing, work allocation, and workflow within the Middle Office and outsourced functions, ensuring SLAs are met.
• Review and approve work by junior team members, providing guidance as needed.
• Conduct in-depth analysis on complex transactions and identify solutions for escalated inquiries.
• Act as SME for maintenance of trade static data, trade enrichment, and market claims.
• Manage complex reconciliations including cash, asset, trade matching, and market value; resolve breaks and trade fails.
• Contribute to monthly end-client statement workflows, ad hoc reporting, and incident management.
• Identify and elevate issues affecting IBOR accuracy within the team.
• Engage regularly with clients to answer questions and resolve complex transactions.
