Job summary

WSP is expanding its UK flood forecasting capacity within Sustainable Water Management. You will work with hydraulic modellers and hydrologists delivering real-time flood modelling projects for diverse clients and sectors, mentoring juniors, and supporting tenders.

The team collaborates across WSP's global network with a safety-first ethos. You will help lead technical reviews, develop new forecasting services, and engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of UK flood forecasting techniques, rating review and performance testing.
• Experience in reviews and calculations for UK statutory bodies (EA, SEPA, NRW, DfI).
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to spot and win business opportunities.
• A track record leading and winning work with clients and stakeholders.
• Excellent report-writing, technical review, and data interpretation skills.
• Chartership with a relevant professional body or plan to obtain it within an agreed period.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical delivery and leadership for flood forecast modelling and hydrology studies.
• Supervise production of high-quality client- and public-facing deliverables.
• Develop and deliver improved flood forecasting services with the team.
• Support bid proposals and develop innovative client solutions.
• Provide project, commercial and financial management for projects.
