Job summary

WSP is seeking a RAMS leader with rail RAM experience to provide RAM leadership on rail infrastructure, rolling stock and signalling projects. You will deliver RAM plans, analyses and modelling, ensuring risk minimisation and strong client relationships.

You will lead a team of RAM and Safety Engineers, mentor juniors and contribute to proposals while promoting innovation in RAMS practices. Hybrid working in the UK is supported.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a technical engineering related discipline, or extensive relevant experience.
  • RAM engineering experience (rail desirable, but not essential).
  • Corporate membership with an appropriate professional institution (e.g. SaRS, IET, IMechE).
  • Professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (or significant progression towards that goal).
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership to a team of RAM and Safety Engineers.
  • Proven ability to support RAM and Safety engineering activities and/or arguments to clients, acceptance/approval and regulatory authorities in the UK, with international experience desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the application of the BS EN 50126 RAM activities throughout the life cycle of rail projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in a mainline or metro railway discipline, e.g. Signalling, Control Systems, Traction Power, Depots etc.

Responsibilities

  • RAM leadership and guidance to clients across rail projects.
  • Provide RAMS consulting services and act as a technical advisor.
  • Undertake BS EN 50126 RAM activities including RAM plans, Functional Analysis, FBDs, reliability/availability, FMECAs, FTA/RBDA, DRACAS, maintainability analyses.
  • Collaborate with team to minimise project risks and improve delivery.
  • Project manage staff and sub-contractors; mentor junior RAM members.
  • Ensure full delivery of projects while developing client relationships.
  • Support RAM and safety activities and contribute to proposals and tenders.
  • Promote innovation and new techniques to improve efficiency and service delivery for SEIA Group.
  • Assist in promoting the WSP brand and participate in industry councils and technical papers.
