Job summary

Arup, Building Engineering, is seeking an MEP Project Lead Engineer to shape and deliver major rail and transport projects across the region and globally. You will lead technical delivery, support multidisciplinary teams and drive value for clients, communities and the built environment.

You will collaborate on HS2, TfL and Network Rail projects, oversee design production and compliance with rail standards, and act as Electrical Technical Advisor where needed.

Qualifications

• Chartered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with multidisciplinary MEP design knowledge.
• Experience managing and delivering transport or rail projects within a consultancy environment.
• Understanding major rail standards, assurance processes and MEP design delivery requirements.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to represent Arup externally and contribute to bids that secure new work.
• Experience leading engineering teams through design and construction stages, working confidently with clients, contractors and wider project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams from project inception through to completion
• Oversee MEP design production, assurance and compliance with major rail standards, including HS2, TfL, Network Rail, Crossrail and other relevant requirements
• Act as Electrical Technical Advisor where required, with an electrical engineering background being advantageous
• Manage design programmes and resources, working collaboratively with project planners, discipline leads and internal transport teams
• Support bids, business development and the future shaping of rail sector skills and resources across Arup
• Maintain awareness of relevant legislation, regulations and industry good practice
• Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative culture where diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas are valued
