Job summary

Carriera Limited is working with an established property consultancy who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their Cost Management team in Winchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor who is seeking stronger career development, increased project responsibility and a clear route towards MRICS Chartership.

The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio of projects for public and private sector clients, providing cost management from

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or another relevant RICS-accredited discipline.
• Ideally 4-5 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Working towards MRICS qualification.
• Ambition and ability to achieve Chartership within approximately two years.
• Experience across both pre and post-contract cost management.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies and building elements.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Commercially aware with strong negotiation and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident working directly with clients and project teams.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing your own workload.
• Comfortable using digital cost management and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost management services from project inception through to completion.
• Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates and cost plans.
• Assist with the management and delivery of multiple projects.
• Review designs and provide cost advice throughout the design process.
• Prepare and issue tender documentation.
• Manage tender processes, analyse returns and prepare client recommendations.
• Advise clients on procurement options and contractual matters.
• Undertake post-contract cost management including valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Prepare financial reports and provide regular cost updates to clients.
• Attend client, consultant and project meetings.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.
• Support wider client development and business development activity.
