Job summary

Carriera Recruitment has partnered with an established property consultancy in Winchester to hire a Quantity Surveyor. The role focuses on delivering cost management from feasibility to final accounts, with an eye on MRICS progression and Chartered status within two years.

The successful candidate will work across diverse projects for public and private sector clients, with hybrid working in Winchester and APC support for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or another RICS-accredited discipline.
• 4–5 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Working towards MRICS qualification.
• Ambition to achieve Chartered status within ~2 years.
• Experience across pre- and post-contract cost management.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident working directly with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost management services from project inception through to completion.
• Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates and cost plans.
• Assist with the management and delivery of multiple projects.
• Review designs and provide cost advice throughout the design process.
• Prepare and issue tender documentation.
• Manage tender processes, analyse returns and prepare client recommendations.
• Advise clients on procurement options and contractual matters.
• Undertake post-contract cost management including valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Prepare financial reports and provide regular cost updates to clients.
• Attend client, consultant and project meetings.
