Job summary

Carriera is working with an established property consultancy to appoint a Quantity Surveyor in Winchester. The role offers hybrid working and a clear route toward MRICS chartership, with exposure to a varied portfolio for public and private sector clients.

The successful candidate will manage cost from feasibility to final account, prepare cost plans, and support tendering and procurement. APC support and professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or an RICS-accredited discipline.
• 4–5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Working towards MRICS qualification.
• Chartership anticipated within ~2 years.
• Experience across pre and post-contract cost management.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Strong negotiation and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with digital cost management tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost management from inception through completion.
• Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates and cost plans.
• Assist with multiple project delivery.
• Review designs and advise on cost during design.
• Prepare and issue tender documentation.
• Manage tenders, analyse returns and advise clients.
• Advise on procurement options and contracts.
• Undertake post-contract cost management including valuations and final accounts.
• Prepare financial reports and updates for clients.
• Attend meetings with clients and project teams.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Support business development activities.
