Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the @one Alliance in Norwich. The role sits within the Commercial team, delivering cost control and commercial governance for major infrastructure projects as part of Anglian Water’s one Alliance.

You will support project management and site teams, ensuring value is maximised, liabilities minimised and quality and safety standards are met. Hybrid working is available with 2–3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost and commercial management.
• Degree in a relevant discipline desirable.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of construction safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of commercial and cost management for projects or programmes, as directed by the Project Commercial Manager.
• Ensure robust cost management processes are in place, supported by accurate and timely reporting, data and analysis.
• Support commercial decision‑making through effective forecasting and cost control.
• Ensure project teams understand contractual arrangements and partner requirements.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to identify, implement and monitor efficiency plans throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate commercial records, including final accounts, to support audits and cost assurance.
