Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for highways maintenance in Luton, offering hybrid work with on-site requirements (3 days per week). The role is an initial 6-month rolling contract with a day rate up to £500, dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will manage commercial and contractual aspects, administer NEC contracts, monitor costs and prepare interim valuations, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• NEC3/NEC4 contract knowledge and experience.
• Strong cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and contractual aspects of highways maintenance contracts.
• Administer NEC contracts ensuring compliance with obligations and procedures.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and overall commercial performance.
• Prepare, review and agree interim valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Assess subcontractor applications, variations and compensation events.
• Identify, evaluate and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support notification and change control documentation.
• Manage cost reporting, cash flow forecasts and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients and subcontractors for effective delivery.
• Provide regular financial updates to senior management.
• Assist with dispute avoidance and commercial negotiations.
• Ensure processes align with client requirements and standards.
