Job summary

The PWP role within NHS Bury Talking Therapies, Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, focuses on suitability assessments and low intensity CBT for anxiety and depression. It involves one-to-one delivery via phone, video or face-to-face, with at least one face-to-face clinic day a week.

Applicants need an accredited PWP qualification and BPS or BABCP registration, or must be working towards it, and will work with a multi-disciplinary team to meet service targets and maintain stepped care.

Qualifications

• IA PT approved postgraduate PWP qualification or near completion.
• Registered with BPS/BABCP or working towards it.
• Experience in primary care or mental health services.
• Ability to assess risk and manage caseload.

Responsibilities

• Accept referrals and develop programmes of care.
• Carry out patient-centred assessments of change and risk.
• Decide suitability of new referrals and pathway them accordingly.
• Deliver low intensity treatments (guided self-help, computerised CBT).
• Meet activity targets for client contacts and sessions to reduce waiting times.
• Hold face-to-face treatment sessions in clinics at least one day weekly.
• Educate and involve family members where necessary.
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings on referrals or clients.
• Keep clinical records and use outcomes in decisions.
• Work with the team on stepped care step-up/step-down arrangements.
• Assess and integrate work and employment issues into therapy.
• Present caseload information to supervisors and seek development.
