Job summary

Eaton Syalon Ltd is seeking a proactive Accounts Payable Manager to lead and develop the Purchase Ledger function in a fast-paced Derbyshire-based environment. The role focuses on process improvement, system optimisation and team leadership, with close collaboration across finance and IT to drive efficiency.

You will oversee high-volume AP processing, manage payment runs and support month-end deadlines, while enhancing controls and system functionality to minimise risk and improve accuracy.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a high-volume accounts payable or purchase ledger function.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing a transactional finance team.
• Strong knowledge of invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, payment runs and month-end procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end purchase ledger processing including invoices, credit notes and POs.
• Manage multiple BACS payment runs and monitor upcoming payments and cashflow concerns.
• Lead month-end processes and coordinate with the wider finance team.
• Proactively resolve ledger discrepancies and respond to supplier queries.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with policies.
