Job summary

Central Recruitment is recruiting for a PRS Caseworker to support clients across London, working 37.5 hours weekly in a hybrid role that involves office work in King’s Cross and some home-based duties.

The role requires delivering strengths-based, person-centred support to people experiencing homelessness, and proactively sourcing affordable private rented accommodation with landlords and agents. Temporary cover for ~2 months.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering strengths-based, person-centred support to homeless individuals.
• Understanding of moving into and sustaining private rented accommodation.
• Knowledge of the private rented sector and landlord liaison desirable.
• Understanding welfare benefits, financial inclusion and tenancy issues.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and safety planning.
• Awareness of health needs of homeless individuals.
• Ability to translate assessments into clear, outcome-focused plans.
• Strong communication and negotiation with landlords and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 10-15 clients with regular one-to-one support.
• Complete strengths-based assessments identifying needs and goals.
• Co-produce personalised support and move-on plans.
• Source suitable private rented accommodation across London.
• Liaise with landlords/agents to secure tenancy.
• Explore alternative housing pathways when PRS is unsuitable.
• Support tenancy responsibilities including rent and arrears.
• Identify risks to tenancy and plan actions.
• Build relationships with statutory and community services.
• Coordinate with housing, benefits, health and other services.
• Support access to education, training, employment and social inclusion.
