Job summary

QBE is hiring an Underwriter to join our Property and Commercial Combined team in Leeds. You will assess risks, evaluate applications and determine coverage options, working closely with brokers and clients to tailor solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience within the Property and Commercial Combined underwriting space.
• Understanding key profit drivers to maximise long term wealth for shareholders.
• Good knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong negotiating and underwriting approach; pricing and risk assessment abilities.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the Business Plan and personal authority.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, brokers, partners and colleagues to maximise influence.
• Shape and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice in underwriting.
• Promote the department, division and company to maximise brand leverage.
• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements and adhere to underwriting standards.
• Stay abreast of market dynamics and adjust as needed to operate effectively.
