Job summary

Wellcome Sanger Institute is seeking a Buying Operations Lead to own requisition-to-purchase order workflows within Oracle Fusion, ensuring progress aligns with controls and policies. You will lead exception management, coordinate supplier onboarding, and resolve PO, receipting, and invoicing issues while driving process improvements.

You will work across Supply Operations and Finance, using data to identify trends and automate where possible, with a focus on compliant, efficient, and reliable

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of requisition-to-PO and procure-to-pay.
• Experience in procurement operations or supply chain.
• Ability to identify risks and resolve issues.
• Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and coach teams.
• Experience with ERP or e-procurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Own requisition-to-purchase order workflows and ensure progress aligns with controls.
• Lead exception management and coordinate resolution across teams.
• Coordinate supplier onboarding and issue resolution (PO, receipting, invoicing).
• Identify recurring problems and drive workflow improvements and automation.
• Support and enhance buying processes to be simpler, reliable, and compliant.
