NHS Supply Chain is seeking a Procurement Assistant to join the Commercial – Medical Consumables team. The role supports end-to-end procurement processes, delivers strong customer service, and collaborates with category teams.

Hybrid working is offered with on-site days at Alfreton, Sheffield or Wakefield, and a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will contribute to procurement activities, contract management, and policy compliance, while developing reporting skills and

Qualifications

• Experience supporting procurement activities, contract management, and compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
• Strong research and analytical skills, gathering and interpreting data, market intelligence, and emerging trends to inform decision-making.
• Proficient in preparing reports, maintaining accurate records, and using digital tools and spreadsheets to manage and present information.
• Effective stakeholder management, building relationships, coordinating meetings and activities, and maintaining clear communication with internal and external partners.
• Customer-focused problem solver with experience resolving queries, managing invoice discrepancies, monitoring contract performance, and delivering high-quality service.
