Job summary

WSP is seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to join our UK team in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will deliver structural design for discrete work packages, supervise technicians, and produce clear 3D models and drawings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on coordinated solutions.

You will visit sites for inspections and report to the lead structural engineer, engaging with external consultants and contributing to project success, while advancing low-carbon design and embodied carbon

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and Chartered status MIStructE/MICE required.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering and Eurocodes.
• Understanding of analytical techniques and design software.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural design for packages and produce reports, calculations and specs.
• Supervise technicians in creating 3D models and drawings communicating solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated designs.
• Communicate designs verbally, sketching, drawing and presenting.
• Visit sites to inspect and assess existing structures during construction.
