Job summary

A well-established specialist accountancy firm in West Lancashire is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant. You will take ownership of client portfolios, deliver monthly management accounts, and provide valuable financial insight to business owners and their teams.

Applicants should have accountancy practice experience, be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified, or be QBE, with strong skills in P&L and balance sheet analysis. Hybrid working is available after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Previous accountancy practice experience is essential.
• Experience delivering management accounts and financial analysis.
• Ability to communicate with non-financial stakeholders clearly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and schedules).
• Provide variance analysis against budgets and prior periods.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital.
• Prepare VAT returns and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and year-end accounts.
• Explain financial results to clients and add practical commercial insight.
