Job summary

A well-established specialist accountancy firm near Ormskirk is seeking a Management Accountant to join its team. You will deliver monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheets, with clear variance analysis and budgeting support for a portfolio of clients.

The ideal candidate will have accountancy practice experience, ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications (or part-qualified/QBE), and be able to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Hybrid working offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in accountancy practice with focus on management accounts, VAT, reconciliations, budgeting and financial analysis.
• Confidently communicates financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Highly organised and able to manage recurring monthly deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet, with variance analysis.
• Review performance against budgets and prior periods, and provide insight.
• Prepare VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and year-end accounts preparation.
• Work directly with clients, explaining financial performance and trends.
