Job summary

Atos Group in Manchester, GB is seeking a PostgreSQL database administrator with strong data modelling skills to manage a Postgres application datastore across environments. You will own core data structures, monitor performance, and collaborate with data engineers and scientists to ingest diverse data sources.

The role emphasizes hybrid working with minimum office presence, security controls, and close cooperation with the infrastructure and development teams.

Qualifications

• PostgreSQL DBA with strong data modelling skills across environments.
• Experience with Oracle or MSSQL and the latest Oracle version helpful.
• Ability to design and manage schemas, tables and views to support data models.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the PostgreSQL database cluster across environments (cloud and on‑premises).
• Monitor and tune PostgreSQL performance to optimise queries.
• Migrate data structures across database instances, including offline environments.
• Own the data models and lifecycle of data in the Postgres database.
• Collaborate with data pipeline engineers and data scientists to ingest diverse data sources.
• Manage security controls, including roles, permissions, and RLS.
• Work with the infrastructure team to install and patch databases across environments.
