Job summary

Eventus Legal in Alfreton, Derbyshire is seeking a Post Completion Legal Assistant to join a modern law firm. This full-time, permanent role offers a salary of £26,000 to £28,000, hybrid working and 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.

You will move residential property matters from completion through registration and file closure, handling SDLT returns, HM Land Registry applications and mortgage redemptions.

Qualifications

• Strong organisation, attention to detail and reliable task management.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• The ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
• Knowledge of the conveyancing process and familiarity with Land Registry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare SDLT returns within deadlines.
• Submit HM Land Registry applications and address requisitions with lawyers.
• Arrange mortgage redemptions and follow discharges.
• Serve leasehold notices and obtain receipts.
• Check registered titles and provide documents to clients and lenders.
• Assist with undertakings and maintain accurate records and close completed files.
