Job summary

Mattioli Woods plc is seeking a senior PMO leader to embed and scale our PMO framework across a growing financial services-focused group. You’ll educate, influence and drive disciplined project delivery, turning governance into a strategic enabler rather than a burden.

You'll champion an enterprise PMO operating model, own portfolio governance, and lead a small team while partnering with executives to deliver evidence-based decisions across complex, multi-programme change.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading a PMO, portfolio management or programme governance function in financial services, wealth management or fintech.
• Proven track record embedding and improving a PMO operating model in a complex, multi-programme environment.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement; able to make governance an enabler.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills; synthesising complex data into executive insight.
• Experience across Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Commercial mindset; understanding change funding, ROI and benefits realisation.
• Experience of M&A integration programmes is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Embed the PMO operating model, delivery standards and governance frameworks across the organisation (including the enterprise PPM platform).
• Educate and upskill the business on project management disciplines and governance expectations.
• Own portfolio-level governance, RAG status reporting, risk/issue management and benefits realisation tracking.
• Manage cross-programme dependencies and resource capacity across the change portfolio.
• Produce Board and ExCo-level programme reporting to drive decisions.
• Lead and develop the PMO team and set the standard for project delivery.
