Job summary

Medacs Healthcare in Gateshead is recruiting for a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor. If you are an NMC-registered nurse or HCPC-registered professional, this hybrid, non-hands-on role leverages clinical reasoning and report writing to assess how health conditions affect daily living.

The role combines home working with time at assessment centres, offering predictable hours, structured training and clear progression.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or HCPC-registered professional in nursing or allied health
• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions
• Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing)
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face and telephone PIP assessments professionally
• Analyse medical evidence and clinical information
• Produce accurate, detailed and evidence-based written reports
• Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks
• Engage with feedback and development opportunities
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues
• Attend the assessment centre as required
