Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is seeking a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor based in Gateshead. This non‑hands‑on clinical role focuses on clinical reasoning, analysis and report writing, with a hybrid model combining home work and assessment centre time.

The starting salary is £42,000, rising to £46,000 at 12 months once fully accredited and working at a site at least 3 days per week. There are annual reviews, incentives and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions.
• Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience.
• Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles.
• Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed).
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct face‑to‑face and telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Analyse medical evidence and clinical information.
• Produce accurate, detailed and evidence‑based written reports.
• Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks.
• Engage positively with feedback and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues.
• Attend the assessment centre as required.
