Job summary

Môrwell Talent Solutions Ltd. is recruiting a Pension Fund Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Torfaen. The role is hybrid, with roughly one day per week in the office, and offers a salary around £46,500 per year, dependent on experience.

You will manage pension fund accounting, annual reporting, IAS 19/FRS 102 exercises, and statutory returns. Strong reconciliations and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Local authority/public sector experience.
• Exposure to pension accounting and pension fund reporting.
• Accountancy qualification or studying towards a recognised qualification; QBE acceptable.
• Strong reconciliations, financial reporting and regulatory returns experience.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Good communication with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Pension Fund accounts and annual report/returns.
• Coordinate IAS 19 and FRS 102 exercises for scheme employers.
• Submit SF3, quarterly tax returns and ONS returns.
• Reconcile pension contributions, ensure deadlines and recharges.
• Reconcile pensioner payroll and pension fund cash and suspense accounts.
• Monitor and reconcile cash balances per the fund's strategy.
• Support pension fund budgeting and financial systems.
