Job summary

Môrwell Talent Solutions Ltd is assisting a public sector organisation in Torfaen to recruit a Pension Fund Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Hybrid working with a circa £46,500 salary and a focus on pension fund accounting within a Financial Services team.

The role requires experience in pension accounting and public sector environments, with responsibilities spanning annual accounts, IAS 19/FRS 102, SF3 submissions, reconciliations, cash management and audit liaison.

Qualifications

• Experience in pension accounting and pension fund financial reporting.
• Experience in local authority or wider public sector environment is important.
• Qualified by experience (QBE) acceptable; finalists or those studying welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate Pension Fund accounts and annual report and accounts.
• Coordinate IAS 19 and FRS 102 exercises for scheme employers and provide guidance.
• Prepare SF3, quarterly tax submissions and ONS returns.
• Reconcile pension contributions and ensure timely payments and recharge accuracy.
• Reconcile monthly pensioner payroll and Pension Fund bank/payroll suspense accounts.
• Monitor and reconcile Pension Fund cash balances and position.
• Support Pension Fund budget process and maintain records in financial systems.
• Act as a key contact for auditors, actuary, and advisers.
• Provide financial information and guidance to stakeholders.
