Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is supporting a business in Rotherham to recruit a Payroll Administrator on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The role offers hybrid working after training, with three days per week in the office, and a salary of £27,000 to £30,000.

The successful candidate will manage end-to-end UK payroll, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate employee records within a supportive team. Knowledge of Sage, HMRC RTI, and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience processing UK payroll from start to finish with minimal supervision.
• Experience using Sage payroll software and the ability to learn new systems.
• Knowledge of HMRC RTI submissions and pension auto-enrolment.
• Strong Excel skills: formulas, sorting, filtering, and pivot tables.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet monthly deadlines.
• Professional approach to handling confidential employee information.
• Good communication to resolve payroll queries effectively.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end UK payroll accurately and on time.
• Perform pre- and post-payroll checks and monthly reconciliations.
• Process statutory payments, deductions and pension contributions.
• Prepare and submit HMRC RTI returns and other statutory documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and handle confidential payroll information.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies and resolve employee queries promptly.
• Support the preparation of payroll audits and maintain data accuracy.
