Job summary

Rightmove in Milton Keynes is seeking a Payroll Executive to join our Finance Team. You’ll deliver accurate monthly payroll across two PAYE schemes for around 1,000 employees, handling joiners, leavers, deductions, and pensions while maintaining strong controls.

This in-house role requires 2+ years of payroll experience, solid knowledge of UK payroll legislation, and strong Excel skills. You’ll collaborate with People and Finance to resolve issues in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in an in-house payroll environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory payments.
• Confident completing manual calculations and managing pension, auto-enrolment and salary sacrifice administration.
• Excellent Excel skills with formulas, lookups and pivot tables.
• Organised and able to prioritise against fixed payroll deadlines.
• Clear, empathetic communication and good stakeholder relationships.
• Experience with NetSuite, Zone Payroll or similar cloud-based payroll systems is beneficial; payroll qualifications welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll changes across the employee lifecycle for two PAYE schemes.
• Complete manual payroll calculations, reconciliations, and payment files accurately and on time.
• Manage pension administration, auto-enrolment and salary sacrifice arrangements.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers, clearly and helpfully.
• Submit accurate payroll data to HMRC and maintain confidential records.
• Collaborate with People, Finance and other teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
