Job summary

Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council seeks a Building Control Technician to join the Building Control team. You will provide technical and administrative support for Building Regulation applications, working closely with Building Surveyors, customers and colleagues to deliver an efficient, accurate and customer-focused service.

You will handle submissions, maintain records in IDOX and Uniform, and assist with payments and inquiries to ensure a high-quality service for residents and construction

Qualifications

• Organised and customer-focused administrator with excellent attention to detail.
• Enjoys working with technical information and maintaining accurate records.
• Supports delivery of an important public service.

Responsibilities

• Processing Building Regulation applications and checking that submissions are complete and accurate.
• Maintaining accurate records using IDOX, Uniform and associated systems.
• Responding promptly and professionally to enquiries by telephone, email and correspondence.
• Providing general advice on Building Regulations and application processes.
• Researching property and site histories.
• Processing personal and local land charge search requests.
• Preparing and issuing documentation throughout the application process.
• Taking application payments by telephone.
• Providing support across the wider Planning Service when required.
