Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Part Time British Sign Language Support Specialist. You will handle video calls, render meaning between BSL and English, and support with BSL interpreter management and training potential.

The role is hybrid, with home-based work and London head office availability. Essential NRCPD/RBSLI registration and MA/PGDip/NVQ6 in BSL/English Interpreting are required, plus public sector experience.

Qualifications

• Be NRCPD or RBSLI registered and re-register yearly.
• MA / PGDip / NVQ6 in BSL/English Interpreting; second language degree.
• Experience in public sector BSL interpreting; evidence on request.
• Independent, proactive, and customer-focused.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to video interpreting sessions and interpret professionally.
• Maintain accuracy in verbal and non-verbal interpretation.
• Follow interpreting guidelines and NRCPD/RBSLI protocols.
• Manage video-call flow and obtain client permissions as needed.
• Produce reports and assist with admin tasks as required.
