Job summary

Word360 Limited is seeking skilled face-to-face BSL interpreters to support communities across the UK. You will deliver vital interpretation services to organisations in health and social care, councils, charities and private businesses.

As a self-employed interpreter, you’ll manage your own tax registrations with HMRC and choose assignments around your schedule, contributing to improved access to essential services for people with hearing loss.

Qualifications

• Registered Sign Language Interpreters (RSLI) or Trainee Sign Language Interpreters (TSLI) are welcome to apply.
• NRCPD registration or eligibility is expected for assignment eligibility.
• Self-employment in the UK and HMRC registration is to be managed by the interpreter.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face British Sign Language interpretation to diverse clients.
• Support NHS, local authorities, charities and private organisations as required.
• Break down communication barriers while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

What you'll be doing

As a face-to-face interpreter, you will deliver vital language interpretation services to a range of organisations, particularly within the Health and Social Care sectors. Your assignments may include supporting individuals accessing services through the NHS, local councils, charities, and private businesses.

You will play a key role in breaking down communication barriers, ensuring that every person has access to the services and support they need.

What we're looking for

Both Registered Sign Language Interpreters (RSLI) and Trainee Sign Language Interpreters (TSLI) are encouraged to apply.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

• Excellent communication skills in both English and British Sign Language
• Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple assignments
• Professionalism and enthusiasm, with a respectful and empathetic approach
• Confidence interpreting across various environments (medical, social care, and community-based settings)
• NRCPD Card
• Eligibility for self-employment in the UK
