Allianz UK is seeking an experienced Non-Standard Underwriter to join our team in a hybrid role based in London or Chelmsford, with one day per week in the office. You will support the Lead Underwriter in managing the Non-Standard portfolio, driving profitable growth while delivering high-quality service to customers and brokers.

You will collaborate to assess risks, analyze MI, and contribute to pricing and product accuracy, while identifying improvements across teams and ensuring governance

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting, product development, or related technical roles.
• Ability to interpret MI and data analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and recommend solutions.
• Proficiency in Excel (intermediate) and PowerPoint.
• Solid understanding of underwriting appetite, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and project management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and report effectively.
• A proactive approach to spotting risks and opportunities and driving solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Underwriters: Assist in the management of broker relationships, portfolio performance, and MI analysis, providing technical insight to support underwriting decisions, profitable growth, and effective portfolio management.
• Apply Technical Knowledge: Use your underwriting expertise and customer insight to assess risks, identify opportunities, and support sound underwriting decisions.
• Monitor Market Activity: Keep up to date with market trends, technology developments, regulatory changes, and product performance to help inform underwriting activity.
• Maintain Product Accuracy: Assist in ensuring product specifications, underwriting guides, and supporting documentation remain accurate and compliant.
• Support Pricing Activity: Contribute to the review of pricing models, rate guides, and product performance to help maintain market competitiveness.
• Identify Improvements: Work with colleagues across teams to help identify process improvements and support the delivery of efficient underwriting solutions.
