Leonardo UK Ltd. is seeking a Network Systems Engineer to design, configure, and support secure naval IP networks and virtual environments. The role combines home and on-site duties, with laboratory testing and integration work using COTS/MOTS technologies to meet stringent defence requirements.

You will lead design governance, contribute to test artefacts, and work toward Design Authority status while ensuring security, reliability, and lifecycle compliance across projects.

• Solid understanding of core networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with configuring and supporting network devices in enterprise environments.
• Ability to work independently on defined work packages while collaborating effectively with wider teams.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
• Technical leadership within the scope of the system and its technology.

Responsabilités

• Architect and govern naval communication network solutions and implementations.
• Lead on network design: high/low-level designs, layer 2/3 architectures, routing and segmentation strategies.
• Oversee all engineering lifecycle phases for networks and network applications on naval platforms.
• Define network interfaces between communication systems and mission systems.
• Capture design and test artefacts for engineering lifecycle stages; manage existing systems and concepts to development.
