CKB Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Motor Underwriter in Twickenham to own and grow a specialist motor underwriting function within a dynamic team.

The role focuses on bespoke and niche personal lines motor insurance, with close collaboration to ensure sound underwriting decisions and sustainable growth. Based primarily in the office in Twickenham, you will be the technical contact for the sales floor, assess referrals, present bespoke risks to underwriters, and manage insurer relationships.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in personal lines motor insurance.
• Experience with bespoke or niche motor schemes.
• Strong knowledge of motor risk factors and underwriting judgement.

Responsabilités

• Act as a key point of contact for underwriting queries from the sales team.
• Assess email and internal referrals, making competent decisions within your authority and referring to insurers where necessary.
• Present bespoke motor risks to insurer underwriters and agree terms.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with insurer partners.
• Monitor insurer loss ratios and underwriting performance, identifying trends and areas needing attention.
• Assist with producing scheme performance data using company systems.
• Maintain accurate insurer and product records.
• Keep up to date with products and developments affecting underwriting decisions.
• Work closely with Operations on compliance matters and improvements to processes.
